The two main themes of the book pertain to the propaganda raids of the UPA in North-Eastern Slovakia (August-September 1945 and in April 1946), and the counter-measures undertaken by the Czechoslovak Army and the State Security. The book also contains documents of the Czechoslovak-USSR and the Czechoslovak-Polish cooperation against the UPA, information about the Ukrainian population in South-Eastern Poland («Zakerzonnia»), and the reaction of the Czechoslovak population to the UPA.
